WHAT YOU GET
Your Web Résumé is not searchable by search engines. No one finds your Web Résumé until you provide your unique link (address). For example: www.resumespotlight.com/typically first initial last name.
Your Web Résumé package includes:
- A PDF conversion. This is an industry standard, which preserves the look of your original résumé and will look the same on all computers, provided they have Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader installed, which most people do.
- A printable text only version with line breaks. This version can be used to copy and paste into the body of an email to send out to employers. The best way to do this is to click on the link. Then click on File> Save as and save it to your computer. Then open it ... Click on Edit> Select all then Edit>Copy. Open your email program and paste it into the body of the email by either of the following methods: Click on Edit> Paste or right click with your mouse and Paste or by using your keyboard by pressing the "Ctrl" key and the "V" key.
- A copy and paste text version. You will notice the difference when you open this one as the text will run all of the way over to the right side. This version is useful for copying and pasting into online forms at different job board posting or employers' web sites where all they have is the small box where they want you to copy and paste your résumé.

Q: Why would I want/need a web résumé?
A: In addition to the reasons above, having an online web portfolio allows both you and the hiring manager to review your credentials together. Plus think of the convenience; you never know when you might run into a prospective job lead and if you include your web résumé's URL on a business card, that's a lot simpler to hand to a new contact than a résumé (which you're probably not likely to carry around with you anyway.)
With several employers concerned about viruses, having a web résumé is a great (and impressive) way to direct an employer to your credentials. No more wondering if your e-mail or if your e-mail made it through a firewall. The hyperlink will provide the employer with a safe alternative to access your credentials.
Q: Can my employer or anyone for that matter use a search engine to find my web résumé?
A: No. There are no keywords used with your web résumé. Without keywords present, your information cannot be found using search engines. You can also password protect your web résumé for added peace of mind.
Q: Where is my web portfolio hosted?
A: Your web résumé will be hosted on the Resume Spotlight web site.
Q: Couldn't I just order a web portfolio directly from Resume Spotlight?
A: No. Resume Spotlight only works with its authorized partner, of which Prism Writing Services is one.
Q: Couldn't I just build my own web site?
A: Sure —if you have the time, expertise and funds to handle a project of this nature. With Resume Spotlight, you're paying one low fee for the development of your site and for six months of hosting — it comes to a lot less in terms of time and cost than if you were to take this task on yourself.
Q: What would be my domain name?
A: www.resumespotlight.com/yourfirstintiialandlastname.
Q: Is there an extra fee for hosting my web portfolio?
A: No. Your web résumé is hosted as part of your site's development of charge on the Resume Spotlight web site for the first six months, with additional six-month time blocks available at very affordable rates.
Q: Once my portfolio is published, can I change it?
A: Your web résumé is based on your approved resume. While we will be happy to make minor changes, e.g. updates to your contact information, there will be an additional charge of $75 per hour to make any extensive changes .
WHAT A WEB RÉSUMÉ WILL NOT DO
1. Having your web résumé on the Internet will not generate leads for you by itself.
To protect your privacy, we do not submit your information to the Internet search engines. There is nothing preventing you from doing so if you wish. Still, having a web presence will not magically draw leads from cyberspace. The only way people will see your web résumé is by you promoting your site in your career marketing campaign.
2. Having a web résumé will not open doors for you by itself.
Your résumé, broadcast letter, or networking contact is the door opener with recruiters and hiring authorities. Your web résumé can help solidify a recruiter's initial interest into a telephone interview, but your credentials themselves must ignite the initial curiosity.
3. A web résumé is not a substitute for excellent interviewing skills.
You will focus your telephone and personal interviews primarily on your prospect and their business needs. When the conversation comes around to you and your abilities, you can use your web résumé to quickly and impressively illustrate your talents and accomplishments. But, the primary determining factors for your success will still be how well your skills match the company's needs and how well you interview.
